Radio Richmond Wins

WCDX-Richmond’s iPower 92.1 picked up two first place awards at the 76th Annual Virginia Broadcasting Awards event, held Friday, June 21, 2013 at the Hilton in Virginia Beach. Awards are based on project first aired between January 1st and December 31st, 2012. TT Torrez’s Annual Prom-a-thon on WCDX won 1st Place for Best Public Service Event in a large market. The annual Prom-a-thon collects and donates prom dresses to high school students in need. This annual event has collected nearly 1,000 dresses and has become a WCDX-Richmond tradition with TT Torrez, Afternoon Drive personality on WCDX. Cam Cooper, Imaging Director and Morning Show producer won 1st place for Best Commercial in a large market. Cooper’s MLK Party commercial was written and produced locally and aired exclusively on WCDX-FM. Vice-President/General Manager Linda Forem comments, “I couldn’t be prouder of TT and Cam for winning these awards. Being recognized in the state of Virginia for excellence in broadcasting is truly an honor for our staff.”
