Mychal Maguire

Mychal Maguire has been named PD of iHeartMedia Urban WBTP (95.7 The Beat)/Tampa Bay, effective May 18. He will succeed Bo Money, who, as we recently reported, is headed to the PD post at Urban sister KQBT (93.7 The Beat)/Houston. And speaking of market upgrades, Maguire is currently SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia Montgomery, AL and midday delight on WWMG (Magic 97.1). Upon his arrival, Maguire will report to Doug Hamand, SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia Tampa Bay, who commented, “Mychal is an extraordinary programmer and great find for 95.7 The Beat. His attention to detail and attitude to make his products and content the best is extremely refreshing. I cannot wait to hear what he will do to an already successful radio station.”

 

Maguire’s resume includes a previous stint as Director of Urban Programming in Macon, GA, PD of Cumulus Urban KMJJ/Shreveport, LA; Clear Channel Urban WPHH (Power 104.1)/Hartford and stops in Charleston, SC and KIIZ/Killeen, TX. “I’m extremely excited to join the talented iHeartMedia Tampa Bay team,” said Maguire. “I’ve always considered this as a dream position, and I’m thrilled to lead such a talented team… sincere thanks to Sam Nein, Doug Hamand, Gene Romano and Doc Wynter for entrusting me with such a great opportunity to grow my career.”
