New Music 1

This summer has been more than exciting for new hip-hop releases. Highly anticipated releases from Wale, Kanye West, J. Cole, Mac Miller, Odd Future, and others have already surfaced, but we’re just getting warmed up here people. For all my underground heads, the free project “Run the Jewels” from indie-rap superstar El-P and Killer Mike was recently put out. I must say this is definitely one of the most underrated highlights of this summer’s hip-hop influx. Also, up-and-coming Brooklyn rapper Joey Bada$$ came out with a new mix-tape called “Summer Knights”. A few weeks back, rapper Action Bronson and producer Harry Fraud put out a free EP “Saab Stories”. ALSO, Las Vegas based duo The Greater Good released their debut mix-tape “Goodness Gracious”. Plus, one of my longtime west coast favorites Slik D released an EP entitled “MexiCali” which is available on Bandcamp. This is just a little bit of all the dope hip-hop out this summer. Still on the way is the highly anticipated debut album “Doris” from Odd Future emcee Earl Sweatshirt. There’s a new album from Young Money golden boy Drake called “Nothing Was the Same” coming this year too. If I missed anybody important, let me know.
