Mariah Carey Joins the Cast of Empire

“Empire” co-creator Lee Daniels has announced that Mariah Carey will join the cast of the Fox series for its second-season return in September.

“Watch her on Empire, you guys,” he told thousands of cheering fans before Carey was presented with the star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. “She’s coming on Empire.”

The 45-year-old singer will join a star-studded cast including Alicia Keys, Chris Rock and Lenny Kravitz.

Daniels didn’t give any further details about Carey’s role in the show, but the network is scheduled to divulge more information at the television critics’ panel .
