Ed Lover, the voice of Throwback Hip Hop, is making final preparations to make his triumphant return to morning radio in January, as he and co-host Monie Love will launch a new daily four-hour show syndicated by Reach Media Inc. in collaboration with Radio One. He later went on to do mornings on iHeartMedia Urban WWPR (Power 105.1)/New York andmost recently hosted Backspin on SiriusXM. Ms. Monie Love is a Grammy-nominated MC and radio personality who is best known and loved for such iconic tracks as “Monie in the Middle” and “It’s a Shame (My Sister).”
In making the big announcement, David Kantor, CEO of Radio One’s Radio Group said, “Ed and Monie represent the spirit of the Throwback Hip Hop experience. Their personalities and styles make them the perfect voices as the demand for the growing format expands on radio.” The company already announced a major market affiliate for The Ed Lover Show — it will debut on Radio One Throwback Hip Hop outlet WPHI (Boom 107.9)/Philadelphia in a few weeks.
