Entercom San Francisco has appointed Elroy R.C. Smith to the newly created position of Operations Manager and Program Director of Urban KBLX and Rhythmic AC KUZX (Q102) as part of a staff re-organization. “We are thrilled to welcome Elroy to the Bay Area and to the Entercom family,” said Steve DiNardo, VP/Market Manager of Entercom San Francisco. “He is a career Urban and Rhythmic Programmer who has competed at the highest levels in major markets like Chicago and Philadelphia. His acumen in both programming and operations will be invaluable to our continued success and momentum in the marketplace.”

Elroy shared his excitement with The Urban Buzz, “This is an opportunity that I never saw coming, which reinforces that there is a God. I am pumped and cannot wait to jump into the saddle on April 25, 2016. Smith transitions from Greenville-Spartanburg, SC, where he spent the past year as year as OM of SummitMedia’s four-station cluster. His 30-year programming resume includes a seven-year stint with Radio One as OM of Radio One Philadelphia and PD of Urban AC WRNB (Old School 100.3) and Inspirational WPPZ (Praise 103.9). Before that he spent 15 years in Chicago as OM/PD of Clear Channel Urban WGCI, Urban AC WVAZ (V103) and OM of Gospel WGRB-AM. Back in the day, Smith was VP of Programming of Nash Communications and PD of the legendary WILD-AM/Boston. Concurrent with the news of Smith’s hire, Entercom announced the departure of current KBLX PD Stacy Cunningham-Moreland and Q102 PD Trevor Simpson. DiNardo added, “We thank Stacy Cunningham and Trevor Simpson for their contributions and wish them continued success in their future endeavors.”
