v103wvaz (1)WVAZ-Chicago’s V103 will keep Joe Soto as host of Afternoons from 2-7p. “I’m proud to have Joe Soto take the reins of afternoon drive on V103,” said Dir./Urban Programming Derrick Brown. “I’ve known Joe for over 25 years and worked with him on several occasions, most directly at V103 for almost a decade. He’s a proud son of Chicago, a hilariously talented theatre-of-the-mind entertainer, and die-hard Cubs fan. I’m most impressed with his non-stop commitment to uplifting our community from our gun turn-in programs to youth baseball camp.”

Soto, a 36-year veteran, is most familiar to Chicagoland listeners as host of “The Real Show” and “Back in the Day” on V103. He previously co-hosted mornings on sister station WGCI.

“The opportunity to host afternoon drive on V103 is an honor and a privilege,” said SOTO. “It is truly one of our nation’s great radio stations. Thanks to Derrick Brown for his incredible guidance and belief in me. Thanks to iHeartMedia/Chicago Region President Matt Scarano and SVP/Programming Tommy Austin for their constant support. I must also acknowledge the legendary Doug Banks. He was a teacher, mentor and friend. There will never be another Doug Banks. The V103 listeners are like family members. They are the most important part of what I do every day. I’m just a kid from K-Town on Chicago’s great west side living the dream!”
