P-Funk’s Bernie Worrell In The Fight of His Life

1997 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, keyboardist, composer and founding member of legendary Parliament-Funkadelic, Bernie Worrell(aka The Wizard of Woo) is in the fight of his life. Sadly, Bernie is currently battling stage-four lung cancer and prostate cancer. Recent updates say his vocal cords have been paralyzed robbing him of his speech.

Friends of Bernie are appealing to fans, friends, fellow musicians and music lovers for help to assist him during this difficult time. They’ve formed the Bernie Worrell Fund.

Bernie Worrell has made immeasurable  contributions to all genres of music and given so much to so many…..Now is the time to give back.

A tribute and benefit concert to raise funds for Worrell’s cancer treatment, produced by the Black Rock Coalition and featuring musicians with whom Worrell has worked over his career, occurred on April 4 and 5, 2016, however the fight for Bernie’s health continues.
