BET Awards 2016… Best Music Awards Show on TV

No doubt you’ve seen or heard about the 2016 BET Awards, to wrap up the BET Experience in LA. I won’t give you a blow by blow description of the proceedings but I will tell you that Debra Lee (CEO) and Stephen Hill (President) did a masterful job putting on a high production quality show. Plus you gotta give them mad props for the get out to vote message throughout the show!

Masterfully hosted by Anthony Anderson and Tracy Ellis Ross, I loved the performances from Beyonce, Kendrick Lamar, Bilah, Maxwell, Jennifer Hudson, Anderson Paak, Janelle Monae, Usher, and Sheila E. The tributes to Prince were quite moving… but the speech on culture by Grey’s Anatomy’s Jesse Williams was inspiring and amazing. He channeled his inner Malcom X.

The BET Awards stands above all other music awards shows on television.
