radiothon

Hallejulah1104.3 Hallelujah-FM, an iHeartMedia station, Sunday, raised $10,600 to benefit the Sickle Cell Foundation of the River Region. The money was raised during a twelve hour radio-thon held from 6:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. on the market-leading radio station; hosted by popular personalities Connie Bryant and Yvette Bullard-Dillard. This was the 28th year for the annual fundraiser.

The Sickle Cell Foundation of the River Region serves nine counties in central and south Alabama and provides awareness, testing, monitoring, resources and other support for individuals suffering from sickle cell disease.

“I would like to thank the staff and management of 104.3 Hallelujah-FM for opening their doors and allowing us to conduct this radio-thon,” said James Belton, President of the Sickle Cell Foundation of the River Region. “This is our major fundraiser and without this partnership we would probably fall short of the funds needed to assist our patients. We also thank the community for their assistance in making this fundraiser and great success.”

“We have an obligation to support charitable organizations in our community,” said Yvette Bullard-Dillard, Afternoon Personality for 104.3 Hallelujah-FM. “The only way we can continue to fight disorders that affect African Americans disproportionately like Sickle Cell is by partnering with great organizations like the Sickle Cell Foundation of the River Region.”
