The Best of Dance and Romance Kevin Fleming July 19, 2016 Entertainment, Music News, Radio Buzz “Tony Q” Quartarone’s Multimedia Communications, LLC is in the process of acquiring its first radio station — WJSJ-FM from Neal Ardman’s Nia Broadcasting, Inc. WJSJ is a former CBS Sports affiliate licensed to Fernandina Beach, FL and serving the Jacksonville, FL market. Last Friday, July 15, at 3pm ET, WJSJ flipped to Rhythmic and is now reborn as DJ 105.3, “The Best of Dance and Romance,” playing the best dance songs from the ’70s, ’80s and ’90s. The logo shown is one of several under final consideration. “I have been researching this market for several years, and this format was noticeably absent from the Jacksonville market,” said Quartarone. “The difference between this station and most other stations is that we will not segregate the music! Basically, if it’s a good song, we are going to play it for everyone to hear! We are going back to the basics of what radio was meant to be — giving the people what they want.” The staff so far consists of Manuel “Manny” Mena, Tony Q’s longtime business partner, who is serving as Operations & Asst. GM; Brian Reilly is Traffic Manager, Account Executive & HR Director; and Tony’s son, Mario “Q” is also wearing the multiple hats of Music Director, air personality and Promotions Coordinator. WJSJ is now in need of record service — for more information, please call 904-923-8235. Related
