Radio One Atlanta has reversed a 7-month-old move, as Urban AC WAMJ (Majic 107.5) is once again being simulcast on sister WUMJ, creating the twice-as-powerful entity Majic 107.5/97.5. You’re welcome! Since earlier this year, WUMJ had been simulcasting the programming of translator-fed Throwback Hip Hop sister Boom 102.9. “We heard our listeners,” said Tim Davies, VP/GM of Radio One Atlanta. “One signal wasn’t strong enough to reach all of our audience. Our South Atlanta audience missed listening to The Steve Harvey Morning Show, Maria More and The Ride with SiMan and Chubb Rock in the afternoons. So we have brought the two back together — literally, the Majic is back!”

Derek Harper, PD of Majic 107.5/97.5 noted, “The radio sets the tone of the day for so many people. Our loyal listeners want a strong and clear sound on Majic and it’s our pleasure to give it to them. Yes, we’re back where we belong, on both 107.5 FM and 97.5 FM.” Meanwhile, Boom 102.9, featuring The Ed Lover Morning Show and DJ Nabs in the afternoons can still be heard on 102.9 FM via Decatur, GA-based translator W275BK, which is plugged into the back of WUMJ-HD2 with a long orange extension cord.
