SiManSilas “SiMan Baby!” Alexander has moved to afternoons on WAMJ-Atlanta’s Majic 107.5/97.5. Majic management had been riding high urban radio veteran Skip Murphy but Radio One Atlanta general manager Tim Davies said he decided to drop Murphy and move Alexander from his night slot to afternoons. “We felt we needed a local program at this time,” Davies said. Rene Miller, a long-time Atlanta jock returns to the station replacing SiMan after a four-year break from radio to run a marketing company and continue her work with the Georgia Lottery. Could Murphy be dropped from more stations around the country soon?

It’s already happened…

Comedian, actor and air personality D.L. Hughley will replace Skip Murphy as Reach Media‘s syndicated afternoon host. Murphy joined Reach in March to replace the departed Michael Baisden. Previously, Hughley aired in mornings on WRKS-New York’s 98.7 Kiss FM before leaving the Emmis-owned Urban AC outlet in August, 2010, over a salary dispute. Hughley is best known as the star of the ABC sitcom, “The Hughleys.”
