Clarence AvantIndustry icon,  music executive, entrepreneur, and film producer, Clarence Avant, also known as the Godfather of Black Music, will be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Mr. Avant will be inducted in The Hollywood Walk of Fame Class of 2017 in the category of Recording.

Clarence Avant was the Chairman of Motown Records and Board member of PolyGram. Mr. Avant is a renowned entertainment industry executive known for his keen business sense and unique deal-making skills. A well-respected leader, he is regarded in the highest esteem and is arguably one of the most influential African Americans in entertainment business history. He has worked with industry greats, such as Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, Doug Morris, Antonio “L.A.” Reid and Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds, among many others.
