Childish Gambino to play young Lando Calrissian in standalone Star Wars movie

Donald Glover has been cast as a young Lando Calrissian in the upcoming Han Solo standalone Star Wars movie, Starwars.com announces.

Glover, who currently stars in and created Atlanta, will be the first actor since Billy Dee Williams to play Lando. Alden Ehrenreich will star in the yet untitled movie as Han Solo.

Production begins in January, and the film is slated to hit theaters May 25, 2018, according to Variety.
