KHVN PD Carmina BarnettShout out to KHVN-Heaven 97 (Dallas) Program Director Carmina Barnett who has paid her dues. She always had a love for gospel music which led her to join Dallas’ only 24-hour gospel station in 2000. She worked her way up to become PD, host of the weekday Praise Drive Program heard weekdays from 2 to 6 p.m. and host of the popular Homegrown Gospel Show on Saturdays. The Homegrown Gospel show gives developing artist an opportunity to spotlight their music and ministry. In addition to programming and being a full-time air personality she coordinates all the stations production and promotion activities.

Carmina is active in the Gospel music industry. She serves as Director of Education for the Dallas Chapter of the Gospel Announcer’s Guild and a board member of the Texas Gospel Announcer’s Guild, a division of the Gospel Music Workshop of America. Dedicated to having a positive impact on the local community, she has developed partnerships with schools, educational organizations and other non-profits. In 2010 she received the prestigious “Gospel Announcer of the Year Award” at the Stellar Awards.
Carmina says being a radio personality gives her a platform to celebrate music minstrels, along with powerful ministers of the gospel. “It also gives me the opportunity to touch lives throughout my community”

Q93 and WYLD New Orleans held their 4th Annual “Back to School Supply Drive on the station’s parking lot last weekend. Students’ pre-K through 12 grades got a chance to get supplies and meet their favorite air personalities.
