Robb Banks Calenders

Robb BanksThere’s a new young voice in hip-hop coming out of the backwards, messed-up-law-having state of Florida. I’ve been listening to 19-year-old Robb Bank$ practically every day this summer, and I must say he’s got to be the most underrated dude out right now. His 2012 mix-tape Calendars is a creative and energetic project that shows not only versatility, but passion. Robb Bank$ is working alongside Miami underground up-n-coming rapper/producer SpaceGhostPurrp for his next project, which is expected to be released later this year. On Calendars, you’ll recognize the familiar echoes of 90’s hip-hop and R&B from artists like Master P and Aaliyah. What makes Robb Bank$’ sound so unique is the blend of hipster youth and urban culture perspective, along with the dirty south trap flare. Calanders is an easy 4/5 Files for me. Be sure to check out the awesome videos for “Counting (March)” and “Fine (June).” Robb Bank$ has a very raw and organic sound. Fans of A$AP or Odd Future will definitely take a liking to Robb.
