WPGC 2CBS Radio is pleased to announce that longtime WPGC/Washington afternoon personality DJ Flexx has been named Music Director, with all of the rights and privileges thereof.

Flexx started his radio career at WPGC-AM (Flava 1580) back in 1995. It was there where he honed his skillz as a mix-show jock and a radio personality and was quickly hired by WPGC 95.5 the following year, moving up from late nights to evenings to afternoons. Flexx also served as the DJ on BET’s Teen Summit. DJ Flexx considers himself the “Go-Go Ambassador,” recording singles with Rare Essence and the Backyard Band and collaborating with Groove Theory, Salt-N-Pepa, Funkmaster Flex and Lil Jon.

“I am beyond excited that WPGC’s legendary afternoon host, DJ Flexx will take on the role of Music Director for the station,” said Steve Davis, VP of Programming, CBS Radio Washington and PD of WPGC. “Flexx is an incredible talent and understands all sides of the music business from having a hit song with ‘Water Dance’ to his tremendous success as WPGC’s PM drive host. Flexx has been an incredible asset to WPGC APD Angelique Alston and myself and this is a well-deserved and earned recognition for the great job he does.” Flexx remarked, “I am truly living my dreams and this opportunity is unbelievable… I am so grateful!”
