From Sunny to Hot in Columbus Kevin Fleming January 20, 2018 Radio Buzz, Radio News iHeartMedia traded in one Urban station for a new one on Columbus, GA, flipping WGSY from AC Sunny 100 to Urban as Hot 100, “C-Town’s Hottest Hip Hop & R&B.” This move comes shortly after iHeartMedia spun off former Aloha Trust Urban WBFA (98.3 The Beat) to RCG Media for $1.1 million. “We are excited to have a Mainstream Urban station back in our market,” said Derrick Greene, Senior Vice President of Programming. “Our expert team knows Urban radio and what our local listeners want, and we can’t wait to bring them the best programming and music the format has to offer.” WGSY’s former AC format will live on, this time on 94.7 (rebranded as Sunny 94.7) via translator W234BX.
