Big Sean to Open a Movie Theater in Detroit Kevin Fleming March 4, 2018 Entertainment, Music News Big Sean is giving back to his hometown of Detroit in a major way. On Wednesday, Big Sean hosted a press event where he announced plans to build a luxury movie theater in the city. The aptly titled Sean Anderson Theatre is part of the rapper’s joint business venture with movie theater company Emagine Entertainment. If all goes well, the entertainment space is expected to open to the public in 2020 and will host 10 to 12 movie screens, equipped with up to 1,300 seats. The theater will also be used as a venue for live concerts, comedy shows and other events. “We want to do something revolutionary with it,” Big Sean said during the press event. “We don’t want to just make it a movie theater, traditionally. We also want it to be a hub for entertainment for the whole community. We want people to have an incentive to go the extra miles, to travel into Detroit.” Read more from Billboard. Related
