WJLB_FM98Veteran programmer Nate Bell is returning to iHeartMedia as the new PD of Urban WJLB and Urban AC WMXD (Mix 92.3)/Detroit. Bell is very familiar with the Motor City, having most recently worked across the street for Radio One as OM/PD of Urban WGPR (Hot 107.5), Urban AC WDMK (105.9 Kiss FM) and Urban Gospel WPZR (Praise 102.7)until last September.
Bell will report to Tony Travatto, Regional SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia Detroit, who remarked, “Nate is awesome. He is one of the top Urban programming minds in the business and has unique knowledge of the Detroit market. Adding him to our team will undoubtedly help our listenership and advertisers.”

Bell’s extensive programming resume also includes stints with Radio One Raleigh and iHeartMedia’s WMIB/MiamiWWPR (Power 105.1)/New YorkWKKV/Milwaukee and WDTJ/Detroit. He also served as Director of Urban Programming for iHeartMedia New Orleans, OM/RVPP for iHeartMedia St. Louis and Director of Urban Programming/RVPP for iHeartMedia Memphis. “I’m really excited to return to iHeartMedia,” Bell said. “Being able to work with these two iconic Detroit brands is something I look forward to.” Bell succeeds Cheron Sanders, who transitions to APD of WJLB and WMXD.
