Meet Tyler Dumont

Born in Miami of Haitian-Puerto-Rican and Colombian-Irish heritage, Tyler attributes her soulful style to parents who played a mixture of music from Motown classics to salsa and gospel in the house on the weekend. While the soulful side of Tyler is inspired by soul legends, she attributes her unique sound to studio sessions with co-writing partner, Rich Rivera . No matter how you label her sound, Tyler Dumont is carving out her own niche with her upcoming Nomadic Behavior project deftly showcasing her songwriting and vocal skills. “For me, making music is about connecting with people. I wanted to create music on my new project, Nomadic Behavior, that tells real stories and that’s relatable. What’s more real in relationships than couples fighting and making up!”

Tyler Dumont started out on MTV as a finalist of Diddy’s Making Of The Band 3, but ended up leaving because her mother had terminal cancer.  She’s back and with a new music video, “Don’t Mean It” which has nearly 226,000 YouTube/VEVO video views and SoundCloud streams at over 3.5 million.  The single has been added to MTV Jams, BET HER, and BET Soul’s Sub-Soul where Tyler has been selected as “Fresh Face,” Sirius XM’s Heart & Soul where’s she a “Platinum Pick,” Pandora’s “Indie R&B” and “Chill R&B” channels and into rotation on Music Choice.

“Don’t Mean It,” is currently getting airplay on the following stations: WBLS (NYC), WNBM (NYC), KMJK (Kansas City), WQQK (Nashville), KMEZ (New Orleans), WRBO (Memphis), WUHT (Birmingham), KQXL (Baton Rouge), WLXC (Columbia), KOKY (Little Rock), WDLT (Mobile), WHRP (Huntsville), WDZZ (Flint), WTYB (Savannah), WJUC (Toldeo), WTUG (Tuscaloosa), and Soul Café’s syndicated stations.
