We salute Faith Daniels, afternoon personality and Community Affairs Content Director with Alpha Media Urban AC WROU/Dayton, who was recently honored for her efforts to generate major public support in the wake of a devastating tornado that struck the region on Memorial Day. The area of Trotwood, OH, a suburb of Dayton, was particularly hard-hit.
Daniels was personally singled out by Ohio Auditor Keith Faber and Trotwood Mayor Mary McDonald last Thursday during a ceremony held at the Trotwood Community Center. As the release reads, “In the aftermath of the tornadoes, Daniels moved into the Trotwood Fire Station to better be able to help the community access the food and supplies they needed. Daniels was the only non-first responder and non-government official recognized on Thursday. Keith Faber said that she was a role model; not only for the Trotwood Community, but also for the state of Ohio.”
Mayor McDonald remarked, “We are extremely proud of the immediate, front-line recovery our well trained, committed first responders provided for our citizens during the Memorial Day tornado that devastated our community. Their response was exemplary and they carried out their duties as expected.” McDonald also personally thanked Ms. Daniels, who has consistently used her platform of public service to rally support for Trotwood residents who have been affected by the tornado that caused hundreds of Trotwood families to lose their homes and disrupt their lives.” The ceremony was covered by local NBC affiliate WDTN-TV.
