Algebra HDSAlgebra Blessett is no stranger to the music business, nor is she a new artist.  This Atlanta born daughter of a gospel singer grew up in a house full of soul stirring music. Blessett started doing background vocals for Monica and Bilal and later earned a contract with Rowdy Records. She went on to tour with Anthony Hamilton, collaborate with India Arie and her duet with Anthony David, 4Evermore shot up the charts.  Moving forward, her new project, Recovery, is set to drop in late January 2014 and the lead single Nobody But You, is firmly entrenched in Billboard’s UAC Top 20 with a bullet.

Last week, Industry Tastemakers and Radio executives from as far as New York and Chicago descended upon the “ATL” for an advanced “Recovery” session. The CD is a collection of songs that I can only describe as a smooth honey dollop dropping into a cup of chai tea!

This type of event is another example of a label investing in an artist beyond the point of basic belief.  The Urban radio and records industry has no dedicated confab in which to conduct these types of events and further justifies the need for our type of “fellowship” to spread the message that true talent still exists. Shout out to Mo White and Queen Arlinda for having vision and a memorable event.
