When I heard that young LA emcee Casey Veggies and Chicago emcee Rockie Fresh of Maybach Music were teaming up with Puma to release a mixtape called Fresh Veggies, I was already looking forward to hearing it. I’ve been a Casey Veggies fan all the way back to his first mixtape in 2008, Customized Greatly. Prior to listening to Fresh Veggies, I hadn’t heard anything other than some hot features from Rockie Fresh, so I wanted to see what he had to offer. Fresh Veggies was right on point with a diverse array of tracks. I really dug the opening title track “Fresh Veggies”, “Celebrating Life”, and “Perception”. The guest appearances from Overdoz, Juicy J, and Kirko Bangz fit nicely too. Rick Ross himself even steps on a track for a cameo appearance. The best thing about Fresh Veggies is its length, it’s 10 songs, so it’s not too long, not too short. Fresh Veggies scores a smooth 4.5/5 flies. Rockie-Fresh-Casey-Veggies-Celebrating-Life
