Robin-Thicke-Paula-Patton-1

Robin Thicke and Paula Patton are splitting up

The blurred lines in Robin Thicke and Paula Patton’s marriage have seemingly cleared.

The longtime couple are ending their marriage, reports People.

“We will always love each other and be best friends, however, we have mutually decided to separate at this time,” they said in a joint statement to the mag on Monday.

The “Blurred Lines” singer met Patton when he was just 14 and they became high school sweethearts. The parents to three-year-old son Julian Fuego Thicke got married on June 11, 2005.

The pair were all smiles when they attended the Grammy Awards on Jan. 26 despite multiple reports of his infidelity.

At the beginning of the year Thicke, 36, was seen cozying up to an unidentified woman at a Paris nightclub. The “Give it 2 U” singer reportedly danced the night away at Club 79 in the French city and kept the company of a woman who was certainly not Patton.

Thicke even said his controversial hit single, which was pegged for copyright infringement of a Marvin Gaye classic, was actually about Patton.

“I don’t think people got it,” he told BBC’s Newsbeat, according to the Daily Mail. “I wrote it about my wife … she’s my good girl. And I know she wants it because we’ve been together for 20 years.”

While there’s no confirmation whether infidelity was the cause of their breakup, his rumored extramarital affairs have been widely talked about.

“Some of our individual goals still haven’t been realized,” he told USA Today in July about his relationship with Patton. “But we have a healthy child. We’re madly, crazily in love.”
