Eddie HarrellRadio One has named Eddie Harrell Jr. as VP/General Manager of its Cleveland cluster including WENZ, WZAK and WERE-AM replacing Jeff Wilson who will be concentrating on his new Regional VP duties fulltime. Harrell comes from the company’s co-owned group in Columbus, OH, where he served as VP/GM since April, 2011. While there, he oversaw the move of WXMG from 98.9 to 106.3 and the addition of JACK FM.

Radio President Chis Wegmann said, “Eddie has proven to be a leader with great community ties leading our Columbus cluster to solid performances in ratings and revenue. I’m confident that he will continue the same leadership taking over for Jeff Wilson.”

Wilson added, “Beyond his outstanding contributions to Radio One in Columbus, Eddie has been recognized as one of the most reputable leaders in central Ohio’s nonprofit, civil rights and educational institutions. We are thrilled to see him move those talents to Northeast Ohio, where as a Cleveland Browns season ticket holder, his drive to the games will be a lot shorter.”

Harrell commented, “I am very excited to continue my career with Radio One by joining the team in Cleveland. This team has set a high standard of excellence in all facets of user and customer experience metrics, and I’m confident we will accelerate the momentum to improve results and impact change in the communities we serve.”
