Hot 97 Needs a PD

Emmis has announced that WQHT- New York’s Hot 97 VP/Programming Ebro Darden will be fully committed to his role as morning co-host. Darden will remain as Program Director for WQHT until a replacement is appointed. Emmis upped Darden to Program Director in February, 2007, and VP/Programming in 2010. He joined the local Emmis group as Assistant PD/MD in 2003 after previous stints in Sacramento and Portland, OR. “Fortunately, I have had tremendous success doing both on-air and PD roles, and Emmis let me choose where I would be happiest. Mornings, TV & assisting in Programming makes sense with everything HOT 97 and I have happening today, so I chose creative over corporate,” said Darden.
