Meet Ashlyn Carr

Hailing from Sugarland, Texas, Ashlyn Carr was naturally gifted to sing at an early age, with her parents support she honed her skills through vocal lessons and competitions. She won her first talent show as an eighth grader singing the Jill Scott song, “Slowly and Surely.” Too young for a sophisticated song; yet ahead of her time by admiring the greats that came before her, “I listen to more of the old school R&B like Aretha Franklin, Gladys Knight, Ella Fitzgerald and Nina Simone,” Carr said. Ashlyn has blessed the Houston scene through numerous performances over the years. After taking a to pursue her education, she returned to her music with passion and promise. Ashlyn is ready. As she confides, “after all the life experiences, music is coming full circle. Music is my passion. It’s My Time!” Check out her lead single “The Thrill” co-written by DeAndre Wright, another Houston songstress. Ashlyn’s “My Time” compilation will be available this summer.
