WTMP Returns to Tampa Bay Airwaves Kevin Fleming May 11, 2014 Radio Buzz, Radio News West Coast Media the new owner of Tampa area radio station WTMP has returned its programming to an Urban AC format on 1150 AM. The station was an important voice in the Black community near Florida’s Gulf Coast for 57 years until 2011 when the former ownership group had to file for bankruptcy and the AM and FM stations were sold to Davidson Media Group. That group still owns 96.1 FM and features a Regional Mexican format. Three years after switching its focus to a young Latino audience, Tampa radio station WTMP, 1150 AM, is returning to its previous urban contemporary format. Related
