Unfortunately, was born with a rare condition called “Chiari Malformation” which lay dormant in his system until 2000 when he began to experience complications. In November 2006, after another unsuccessful surgery, he was diagnosed with a very rare disease, Syringomyelia, which has no known cure. The two conditions eventually paralyzed him from the waist down. The surgery he needs is performed only at New York’s Chiari Institute and is the sole medical means to reverse the paralysis and restore his quality of life.
