Old School

Lady BLady B is set to return to WRNB-Philadelphia’s (Old School 100.3 on July 1st. It was back on April 1st of this year when the station transitioned from Urban AC to R&B Oldies and was rebranded as Old School 100.3. Since that day, Lady B has served as the station’s off-air ambassador, extensively traveling throughout the tri-state area on an “Old School 100.3 Tour,” averaging 15 tour stops a week in Delaware, New Jersey and Philadelphia, meeting thousands of listeners and giving away a bunch of prizes. Finally, next Monday, she will get back into the studio and drive you home once again. Old School 100.3 PD Elroy Smith is equally enthused about Lady B’s imminent return, saying, “Philadelphia has many icons; however, for radio, there are only a few, and one of them I have the distinct privilege to work with — her name is Lady B.” He recalls the time he first met her six years ago, adding, “I broke a radio law by auditioning Lady B without hearing her prior to the live audition. Too many people in Philadelphia raved about her when I got here in 2007; therefore, I believed in them and she was hired a week later after that remarkable and compelling audition. Listeners love her down-home style and her connectivity to the community of Philadelphia. We are happy to have her back on the air.” Old School 100.3 and Wawa Welcome America will be celebrating Lady B;s radio return by throwing “the world’s largest line dance party” on Tuesday, July 2nd at Love Park in Center City Philadelphia from 5:30-7:30pm.
