Sony is making a sequel to its 2014 film version of “The Equalizer,” and Denzel Washington is expected to reprise his lead role.  Washington played a retired black ops government operative who believes he has escaped his past until he meets a young girl under the control of ultra-violent Russian gangsters and can’t help but save her.  Chloe Grace Moretz starred in the original, which was helmed by Antoine Fuqua.  After opening in theaters on Sept. 26, 2014, “The Equalizer,” based on the TV show of the same name, performed strongly, earning $192.3 million worldwide.
