Caraway and will kick off the 6th annual Hip Hop for HIV awareness in the Dallas/Fort Worth area this week with confidential free HIV testing through Aug. 25 . Everyone tested will receive onsite counseling, plus a free ticket to attend a Hip Hop concert Aug. 25 at the Fort Worth Convention Center. The event, billed as “Get tested, Know your Status, Get a Ticket” is a simple, effective message that drives thousands of youth to take a confidential HIV test and receive a ticket to see some of the hottest acts in Hip- Hop and R&B. The goal is to equip youth with the necessary tools to live healthy and strong lives, as well as increase the public’s knowledge and comprehension of HIV/ AIDS. Sister station The Boxx in Houston is gearing up for their effort.  The Houston HIV awareness concert will feature Wiz Khalifa, A$AP Rocky, B.O.B. and Trinidad James July 26. 20 year industry reunion. Radio, record, DJ and retail reps got together for a 20 year reunion in Dallas recently.  Hosted by Terry McGill, the reunion which represented individuals who were in the business from 1980-2000 is part of a 2-hour documentary that will be televised.  “We wanted to bring everyone together in the business who worked during that time,” says McGill. “There were a lot of people who made a significant impact on the business and were instrumental in launching some of the biggest stars of the business.  These are the “unsung” heroes and sheroes that worked behind the scenes to get records played, sold and listen to.”
