Derrick Baker New PD at WQOK-Raleigh Kevin Fleming June 9, 2015 Music News, Radio Buzz, Radio News Radio One has appointed Derrick Baker as program director for WQOK (K97.5) and WFXC/WFXK (Foxy 107/104) in the Raleigh/Durham market. He joins the heritage stations from Miami’s WEDR where he was director of branding and programming for the past seven years. Mr. Baker began his radio career on WEDR’s street team and worked his way through the programming ranks over nearly 20 years. “Derrick joins us from one of the most highly regarded stations of its kind, a ratings dominator in one of the most competitive markets in America,” said Gary Weiss, Vice President and General Manager at Radio One’s Raleigh cluster. “We have lofty goals and I know we have the team in place to achieve them.” “I am thrilled to join such an amazing team in Raleigh/Durham,” said Mr. Baker. “I have worked closely with Radio One for many years and now I am proud to be a member of the family.
