iHeartMedia has launched a new format at KTCZ-Minneapolis “Hot 102.5” playing hip-hop and R&B oldies from the ‘90s and ‘00s. The station recently launched with “Mo Money Mo Problems” by the late Notorious B.I.G. and “Party Up” by DMX kicked off the station.
Lucas Phelan, afternoon personality on iHeartRadio’s KDWB, is doing double duty as the program director for the new station, which is spinning 5,000 songs commercial free to start, without DJs.

In a recent hour, Hot 102.5 aired old hits by T-Pain, Da Brat, LL Cool J, Diddy, Jay Z, Tone-Loc, 50 Cent, Ice Cube, Nelly, 702, Dr. Dre, Chris Brown, House of Pain and Kanye West.
