Ashley Newton to Jump from Columbia to Capitol

Columbia Records President Ashley Newton will be leaving Sony Music for Capitol Music Group, where he will take on the role of CMG President and EVP/Creative-Special Projects for Universal Music Group.
Newton was appointed President of Columbia in 2010, and had previously held senior A&R positions at RCA Records and Virgin Records UK, with his career starting at Island Records in the U.K. under Chris Blackwell.
