On Friday October 2nd, we got a chance to check out Indie Pop recording artist Mikky Ekko at the Constalation Room in Santa Ana. This was the second stop of Mikky Ekko’s 20 city North American tour, where he is accompanied by L.A. based band Transviolet.

The tiny, cauldron temperature Constellation room was jam packed with fans eager to hear good music. To spite having no prior knowledge of Transviolet’s music, I found their set to be highly enjoyable. I’ll definitely be checking out their new self titled EP on Spotify.

Mikky Ekko’s set was very passionate and moving. You might recognize the Nashville based singer/songwriter from appearing on Rihanna’s “Stay.” He was accompanied by a live band which added a great to his vocals. Mikky performed songs off his 2014 album Time, which his tour is based off of. I was first introduced to Mikky Ekko’s music back in 2013 when I heard Odd Future’s The Internet remix his track “Pull Me Down.” I was pleased when he performed the original version of the song. Mikky Ekko’s delivered a strong set, and I expect nothing but good things from him to come.

Mikky Ekko’s debut album Time is available on Spotify.
