DONALD GLOVERFans of Donald Glover’s “Erkel-esque” character Troy on the sitcom NBC Community will see the other side of him and his musical skills in a new FX series, Atlanta.

The cable network ordered ten episodes of the half-hour series, which was created by and stars Glover will premiere in 2016. Word from the curb hears there is a laundry list of rappers, producers and other “assorted performers” in line and jacking for guest appearances.

Atlanta focuses on two cousins rising in the city’s burgeoning hip hop scene. Brian Tyree Henry (Boardwalk Empire) portrays rap artist Alfred Miles and Glover portray Earnest “Earn” Marks, who wants to be cousin Alfred’s manager.

In addition to acting on Community, Glover performs under the hip hop moniker, Childish Gambino, was a writer for  NBC’s 30 Rock, and a 2015 Best Rap Performance Grammy® nominee for the song “3005.” He can currently be seen co-starring in the film “The Martian” with Matt Damon and also appeared “Magic Mike XXL.
