LUDA CRESTAtlanta natives Rapper/actor,  Chris “Ludacris”  Bridges and TV and radio host Ryan Seacrest have teamed up to produce a drama series set in the world of marching bands.

(insert violins) “The Down Beat,” from CBS TV Studios and Ryan Seacrest Productions, is described as an inspiring story of a former business mogul looking for personal retribution, who is determined to take down two warring gangs in the mean streets of Atlanta by offering possible teen recruits an unlikely refuge: a high school marching band.

For Bridges, “The Down Beatmarks his first endeavor as an exec producer. It’s unclear if he will star in the drama or eventually have writing input with scripts.

The show’s premiere and cast are expected to be announced shortly.
