The 2016 MusiCares Person of The Year Tribute to the legendary Lionel Richie continues to amaze and delight by revealing names of additional major league performers — Yolanda Adams, Leon Bridges, Ellie Goulding, Dave Grohl, Rihanna, Chris Stapleton and Florence Welch will join previously announced musical heavyweights Luke Bryan, Lenny Kravitz, Demi Lovato, Lady Antebellum, John Legend, The Roots, Usher, Pharrell Williams and Stevie Wonder. The star-studded annual event, which always attracts a who’s-who of the entertainment industry, happens Saturday, Feb. 13 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, West Hall, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel. Richie will be honored as the 2016 MusiCares Person of the Year in recognition of his extraordinary creative accomplishments as well as his career-spanning charitable work.
Proceeds from the annual Person of the Year tribute — now in its 26th year — provide essential support for MusiCares, which ensures that music people have a place to turn in times of financial, medical and personal need. The MusiCares Person of the Year tribute is one of the most prestigious events held during Grammy Week and it all culminates with the 58th Annual Grammy Awards on Monday, Feb. 15 at Staples Center in Los Angeles.
