Amazon is apparently preparing to go head-to-head with Spotify and Apple Music by launching a subscription-based music streaming service.

While Amazon Prime users can already listen to around one million songs on the site for $99-a-year, reports state the newly-proposed streaming platform would charge a separate monthly fee.

Sources claim it would cost $9.99 per month, according to the NY Post, with a “much more robust music selection”.

Although the plans are still in early development, it’s thought the company is hoping to launch the service in autumn.
