Tab Upped to SVP at Def Jam

A&R specialist and hit songwriter Tab Nkhereanye has been promoted to SVP of A&R for Def Jam Recordings. Nkhereanye joined Def Jam in 2014 and made an immediate impact with the signing and creative direction of breakthrough artist Alessia Cara. He’s also responsible for JAHKOY, another major new priority signing for the label that is set to launch later this year. In making the announcement, Steve Bartels, CEO of Def Jam Recordings remarked, “In a very short period of time, Tab has shown incredible ability in both finding bright, new, exciting talent, and shepherding relationships with some of our most iconic artists. In addition, as a successful songwriter, Tab has the unique experience to relate to artists and help them bring their creative visions to life. Nkhereanye is a five-time ASCAP Award-winning songwriter who began his music industry career in Atlanta in 2006 as an A&R consultant for Bug Music/BMG. He moved to Los Angeles in 2009 as VP of A&R for Sony ATV Music Publishing. He has written hits for Destiny’s Child, Mary J.
