Michael Strahan has carved out his place in daytime television since retiring from football. The popular co-host of ABC’s Live With Kelly and Michael will be heading to Good Morning America full time in September, according to Variety. But it won’t be Strahan’s first time at the GMA rodeo: For the last two years he’s been making two appearances a week on the daytime news program.

gma-logo“Michael has been a stellar addition to the broadcast. Over the past two years on GMA, he’s proven to be a tireless and versatile broadcaster with an incredible ability to connect with people, from veterans to American pop-culture icons and newsmakers,” said James Goldston, president of ABC News. “He will end a four-year run as Kelly Ripa’s co-host on Live, where he has honed his skills as an interviewer with genuine warmth and a quick wit. At GMA, he’ll now have even more opportunities to tell stories that inspire, inform and empower people.”

The move doesn’t mean he’s quitting his job as a commentator for Fox Sports, according to Variety.

It’ll be interesting to see who ends up replacing Strahan on Live.
