Berry Gordy on Muhammad Ali

The world has lost a great man, the boxing world has lost an irreplaceable legend and I have lost a wonderful friend.  He was a man of strong conviction and faith, but also full of humor and light.  He was also an incredible poet. Many will remember his rhyming predictions before his fights or his clever catch-phrases and word play with his opponents. I feel privileged that he shared with me many of his more private writings which revealed his deeper thoughts and philosophies.

I cherish my memories of the times we spent together and send his family my deepest sympathies.  Muhammad Ali was  and will always be “The Greatest.”
