Call if a comeback! After 7, Kool & The Gang, Keith Sweat, Janet and Tito Jackson all made comebacks this year. Now we can add 80’s-90’s all-girl band Klymaxx to the party. The “Femme Mafia”is back with a hot new song called “Take U Back“.

You remember Klymaxx, they brought us chart toppers like “The Men All Pause”, ‘Meeting In the Ladies Room” and “I’d Still Say Yes”. “I Miss You” brought the group to pop fame in 1986 when it was named Billboards #3 pop record of the year. Joyce Irby is the original lead singer and bass player for the all girl band. Recently Joyce has teamed up with Grammy nominated writer/producer Wirlie Morris (who’s “You Are” put Charlie Wilson back on on top @ #1 for 13 weeks). Morris has crafted a unique style blending classic & new to Joyce Irby & Klymaxx-FM’s debut.

klymaxx-fmAlso a songwriter, in 2012, Joyce scored another top 5 single and won an ASCAP songwriter
award as a co-writer with “Another Round” by Fat Joe, Chris Brown & Mary J Blige.
The group consists of renown drummer Sheryl Harper, Atlanta song stylist and keyboard
player Regina Troupe, rock guitarist Vanessa Isabella, and singer/percussionist Kat, of one
of midtown Atlanta’s fav music spots, Kat’s Cafe. (What? Where’s Bernadette Cooper?)

The “FM” is “Femme Mafia” which denotes women’s empowerment. The group’s name
Klymaxx-FM reconnects Klymaxx fans who recognize Joyce’s voice from Klymaxx’s biggest
hits. With their new single “Take U Back”, they’re looking to re-brand, with a multi-genre, multi-format contemporary sound. Who doesn’t love to Klymaxx?
