dave-glenn-and-dave-smithRadio One, Inc. announced two nice promotions in its local radio group — Mitch Galvin is upped to VP/GM of Radio One Cincinnati and David Glenn Smith, a.k.a. “Hurricane Dave” is elevated to VP of Programming for Radio One Atlanta. Galvin (left) began his radio career in 1998. He joined Radio One Cincinnati in 2010 as the Local Sales Manager and has been promoted several times since. Mitch has made an impact on our Cincinnati market and has earned his place as the new Vice President, General Manager. Hurricane Dave (right) has served Radio One Atlanta for the past seven years as OM/PD of WHTA (Hot 107.9), WAMJ (Majic 107.5/97.5), WAMJ-HD2 (Boom 102.9) and WPZE (Praise 102.5). As the new VP of Programming and Operations for the cluster, he will continue to manage those four stations, and will additionally oversee the programming for The Rickey Smiley Morning Show and The Ed Lover Morning Show. “Dave is one of the top programmers and content creators in the country,” said Jay Stevens, SVP of Programming for Radio One and Reach Media. “His additional responsibilities will help our shows grow even more nationally, regionally and locally both on air and in our digital platforms.”
