On Saturday July 15th, Fans were eager to see Detroit new rap sensation Tee Grizzley perform hits from his debut project My Moment, along with Memphis rapper  Blac Youngsta. It all went down at the Riverside Municipal Auditorium in Riverside, CA.

When a show is headlined by two artists at the top of their game, expect heat to be brought to the table. But it isn’t always those at the top of the set-list to watch for as it is those towards the bottom.

The concert was hosted by King of Turn Up Pookie, who is clearly a renaissance man in his ability to connect with the crowd, rap, dance, and DJ.

Next to hit the stage was C Starr representing for the ladies. The Long Beach rapper had a a stage presence which was both nostalgic of the G-Funk era and fresh. Sporting a 2pac hat and shirt, C Starr made a major statement and showed much potential that she could be one of the next leading ladies in West Coast hip-hop.

One rapper who had many fans rocking with him in the building was Kedaru. A member of Trojan boy entertainment, he had the whole crowd moving. A special highlight of the night was when Money Gang Meal Clique made it rain, sending the audience in a frenzy grabbing dollar bills.

Tee Grizzley KF2

The moment Riverside was waiting for was when Tee Grizzley came out to his smash hit “First Day Out.” Fans were given this and more due to the fact that Tee performed the song three times in his already brief set. Additionally, Tee’s limited communication with the crowd didn’t match the energy he came with when performing his hit single. Furthermore, there were many more songs off My Moment which he could’ve performed but didn’t.

Finally Blac Youngsta topped off the night with great energy. He has a command of the stage that very few other artists in his pedigree have. Backed by no goons or hype-men he still managed to rock the set the way he should. The only thing missing was a guest cameo, but fans were satisfied with the finished product.

Special thanks to Pack Entertainment for putting this epic night together and to Kevin Fincher for the outstanding photography work!
