There will be plenty of time for tributes and accolades, but we must say from the start that it is difficult to overstate the impact that the 67 year old Joyner has had on radio via his syndicated Tom Joyner  Morning Show over the years. He was a major part of the development of Urban Adult Contemporary radio into a more talk-oriented format, and his use of his pulpit to advocate for many worthwhile causes, from justice to education, is well documented.
And, with his co-host, Sybil Wilkes and the departed Jay Anthony Brown, he has also given us a lot of laughs over the years.  We’ll look forward to two more years of the Fly Jock, and we’re glad he gave us the “heads up” with plenty of time to listen.
