105.3 WDAS FM’S FOURTH ANNUAL WOMEN OF EXCELLENCE LUNCHEON

Station to Also Honor Four Local Remarkable Women

105.3 WDAS FM, Philly’s Best R&B and Throwbacks, announced today that recording artist Will Downing, Philly’s own Vivian Green and new R&B sensation MAJOR. will perform live at the fourth annual WDAS Women of Excellence Luncheon, a celebration of local women and their achievements in the community. The luncheon will take place on Saturday, March 31 from 11a.m. – 4p.m. at the Sheraton Downtown Philadelphia Hotel.

The WDAS Women of Excellence Luncheon will honor Oscar nominated, Grammy Award winner, singer, songwriter and actor Queen Latifah.  The luncheon will also honor legendary Philadelphia broadcaster Rev. Louise Bishop, City Councilwoman Cherelle Parker, iconic Philadelphia TV Anchor and news pioneer Lisa Thomas Laury, First Lady of Mother Bethel AME Church, Leslie Patterson Tyler and Shonda McClain, magazine editor of the Philadelphia Tribune, for their contributions to improve the Philadelphia community.  105.3 WDAS FM’s on-air personalities Patty Jackson, Frankie Darcell, Mimi Brown and Loraine Ballard Morrill will host the event.

In addition, 105.3 WDAS FM will honor four remarkable women nominated by 105.3 WDAS listeners over the past month, one of which will receive the Mary J. Blige Award for Perseverance and Courage.

The fourth annual WDAS Women of Excellence Luncheon is presented by Gwynedd Mercy University.
